Our Commitment to Web Accessibility

Gelbgroup Consulting is committed to providing a fully accessible website experience for all users of all abilities, including those who rely on assistive technologies like screen readers, screen enlargement software, and keyboard only to navigate the web.

Ongoing Efforts to Ensure Accessibility

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA as our baseline for accessibility. As we add new pages and features to our website we are checking it against WCAG.

Website accessibility is an ongoing process. We continually test content and features for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance and remediate any issues. Testing of our website is performed by us manually and using industry-standard tools such color contrast analyzers, and keyboard-only navigation techniques.

Accessibility Features On Our Website

The following is a list of items we have included on our website to improve its accessibility:

  • Our brand colors were intentionally selected for color contrast and meet AA requirements.
  • Most of the website can be navigated using keyboard only with clear focus states.
  • A warning is provided before links open in a new tab or window.
  • Limited use of carousels, accordions, parallax, background videos in the design.
  • Uses semantic HTML and correct heading structure..
  • Includes a “skip navigation” link.
  • Many images use descriptive alt text, decorative elements are empty.
  • Our website declares a language in the header.
  • Our website design has a mobile-responsive design.

Where We’re Improving

In our ongoing effort to bring our website up to standard, we are targeting the following areas:

  • Improving certain areas for keyboard navigation.
  • Making our PDF files accessible and providing alternatives.
  • Adding and improving our headings.
  • Adding any needed Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) for elements that require additional context to understand their meaning.
  • Conducting more thorough manual audits to find any missed errors or improvements.
  • Adding closed captioning to video.

Remediation Timeline

We are actively working to enhance the accessibility of our website and digital content. This includes ensuring that all web pages, PDFs, and other digital files meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards.

Our goal is to complete the remediation process by end of 2025, ensuring that all users, regardless of ability, can access and interact with our content without barriers. During this time, we will continue to identify and correct accessibility issues and provide ongoing updates.
